Thomas Werge’s group

We utilise genetic studies to uncover and identify biological causes that contribute to the development of serious mental disorders. The goal is to standardise and utilise the breakthroughs made in the last decade in our understanding of the hereditary and environmental basis for mental disorders so as to be able to predict disease risks, the course of the disease and treatment responses.

The research unit consists of 25 researchers, including psychiatrists, geneticists, bioinformaticians, statisticians and epidemiologists – all with focus on genetic studies. In addition to Thomas Werge, the group has seven research directors, eight postdocs, seven PhD students and two research assistants affiliated.
